PERSONAL DISCOVERY

(For you to do during the week)

FIND A QUIET TIME AND SPACE

Read one of the following verses and do a SOAP

JEREMIAH 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"

JOHN 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

PHILIPPIANS 4:13

I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.

Below is the SOAP method.

S – SCRIPTURE

Choose a verse from the Bible. It can be the memory verse for the week or another verse that has stood out to you. Write this verse into your notebook. This is helpful for you to refer back to it later.

O – OBSERVATION

Write down your observations and thoughts.

Helpful hints: What is the writer trying to say? What things stood out to you? What was your response to what you read?

A – APPLICATION

Now write out some practical applications that can be gained from your reading. These practical applications are things to implement into your own life.

Helpful hints: What can I learn from what I have read? I can... I need to…

P – PRAYER

Write a prayer, reflective of what you have just read and thought about.
